Hike to Cala Goloritzè self-guided

Jeep transportation to trailhead in loc. Su Porteddu, Golgo plateau and jeep return to town in the afternoon.

Hike description

The trail leaves from Golgo plateau and goes down gradually to the sea. It’s about 3,5 km long and the gradient is 400 metres. It’s a very popular hike, the trail is well marked so it’s possible to hike it self-guided.

Hiking time is aboout 1 hour going down, 1h30min/2 hours going back up.

Difficulty of the hike to Cala Goloritzè: trail without major technical difficulties (E)

If you’re expert hikers, you can take a detour and reach Punta Salinas amazing terrace above the sea, on the way down (this would add 2 hours to your hike).

Important information

Even if this hike is very famous and all kind of hikers do it, even the beginners, it’s still a mountain trail, so hiking shoes are recommended. Good sport shoes should be ok if you forgot your hiking shoes at home.

Don’t forget your packed lunch, enough water and of course, your swimsuit!

Since a couple of years, the beach can be reachd by a limited number of people every day,  so it’s necessary to book your spot on the beach, using “Heart of Sardinia” website/app.
